Posted by – September 5, 2010

I liked piczo before it changed and it won’t let me upload pictures so I’d like to use a different free site for making my website but the same sort of layout as piczo?

Hi There,
You can try Weebly and webs.

Hope this helps,

Brenda, how did you get widgets onto a Weebly page? Had a look at the MuseStorm faq's where they discuss Blogger, WordPress and TagWorld, but there appears to be no equivalent way of getting at the html in Weebly (i.e. no edit html or template).
I was looking to get a sitecounter and other stuff on weebly pages.

Response from Brenda: Well, that seems to be one of the features they need the most. I couldn't find it either. Everything that's on my page thus far has been widgets that are provided by them in the editing sections. Sorry [...]

    I recommend one of these:

Powweb has the best offer right now. It's on a 50% sale – $3.88/month ($46.56/year), and you get a free domain from them. (like http://www.yourwebsite.com)

Their hosting plan includes web builder, so you can create your site just by drag and drop (without any programming), or you could install WordPress (easy, one click install from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content.

I have used ImperialHosting since 2009. They have been great. Good prices, True support, and ect. My website has never been down. Not once.

I previously used several of the "Name Brand" Hosting providers and didn't have a good experience.

I would Definitely recommend them to any one.

They also have a coupon going right now.

    Here it is,

    WHT-STARTER

    Here is their starter plan,

    Starter – 15 GB space
    9536 TB bandwidth
    Unlimited Addon domains
    Unlimited Parked domain
    Unlimited Sub-domains

I use Yahoo for and pay only $4.95 a month for an ad-free site. Free site hosting is also available but Yahoo will place their own ads on it.

You can FTP your pages, or use the free Page Builder.
It is a wonderful utility for making your own web pages with no experience at all.

Register your domain name at Yahoo for only $1.99 for the first year. You will get your own domain control panel which responds immediately to changes like web forwarding or locking. There is no need to email Yahoo's tech boys for changes.

You would probably need to clarify with Weebly but it certainly sound like it could be against there terms of use. If you are going to deal with customers, you really don't want them exposed to a free site. This does not do much to inspire client confidence. You will be better off just getting a real site and setting up shop. Real sites can be had for a few buck a month in hosting. It is not like they are expensive.
