Unfortunately, this answer DOES involve your hosting company for the most part.

And it's just MX, not MMX. Basically, the mail server needs to be setup and the mail routed to the mail server… by the main router and post master and all that.

If the host is that lousy, switch to a different one. As you control the register it takes less than 24 hours to update. This is important.

In order to transfer you may have to wait.
I've never used locodomains, but on godaddy you can just add the nameservers and it is effective immediately.

You will have to upgrade to a premium webs.com account to do this.
on locodomains change your nameservers to:
* ns1.freewebs.com
* ns2.freewebs.com

then:
"Step 3: Visit the Domains section of your Webs account. Under the Transfer a Domain section you should see a link to attach a domain name you already own.

Click that link and type your domain name in the provided section. You should then see 2 green check marks [...]
