your first line works for me:

your second problem: don't forget to indent!! replace – with space:

if a==7:
—-print "ss";
else:
—-print "xx";

python uses indention level for if/else and other control structures.

I forgot much about ARM, so take all of this with caution. It's quite possible that I have missed some details.

Some facts:
- stmfd consists of stm (command to store values of multiple registers to memory) and fd (as in full descending, it means the stack pointer gets incremented before storing each register)
- mind you, it only actually gets incremented if there's an exclamation mark following it; without that it has the same value after the command is resolved
- sp is stack pointer, or R13
- str stores a word (32 bytes) from a register into memory [...]

You're asking python to print the contents of the variable "u" and "d" to the console. However, you haven't actually defined u or d anywhere.

Anything in between the quotes "" is a string. So python doesn't actually understand anything inside of strings.

For example:
mymoney = 550 # python sees this is a variable, and sets its value to 550
print "mymoney = 550" # python sees this as a string, and does not register mymoney as a variable.

Let's take a look at your first line:
